A couple of years ago I attended a networking meeting and a lady by the name of Dee Blick was also attending. During the meeting Dee took her turn to speak about herself and her company. I was totally captivated by the way Dee spoke with so much passion and commitment about marketing and business development and for the several years that were to follow I remembered Dee even though I had not personally met her.
In June 2010 I decided that I wanted to make a change to my own company and start promoting our services using a fresh approach. Remembering Dee I made contact with her that day and arranged to go and visit Dee to see where she could help me.
From the moment I met Dee she was full to bursting with ideas and useful tips to help me move my business forward. Over the years I had plenty of ideas for my company but I really didn’t know how to put them into practice, Dee changed all this by showing me how to go about ambitious projects, what to do and who to speak to. I can honestly say I have learnt more than I ever imagined I would learn from Dee and she has helped me to put my visions into practise and shown me more in the last year than I would ever have imagined learning.
I was so impressed with my first day with Dee that I decided to retain Dee as our Marketing Specialist and Dee now comes to our office for one day each month. During the last year we have completely re-branded my company and given it a fresh new look whilst still retaining our company colours. A new website has been developed and is vastly improved on our old one with a monthly blog and an interactive back office platform for new clients. Every month Dee creates a newsletter packed with interesting facts, an interview with one of our team and a competition with a lovely prize. We have put a marketing project in place so that every member of our sales team is working in the same way to gain new business and Dee has written the literature to be sent out to our clients and this has made a real impact on the business with more new business being gained.
Working with Dee is a joy and a challenge. A joy because I enjoy working with Dee immensely and find her inspirational and I enjoy the new ideas that we brain storm together each month and the different ways we find during our day to get the message about my company across to the clients. A challenge because I can hardly believe at the end of the day how much we have achieved in such a short time and how my head is busting with new information, ideas and a ‘to do list’ as long as my arm.
Over the last year we have formed a close working relationship and I sense that Dee cares as much about my business as I do. My team also look forward to her coming into the office and to seeing the results at the end of the working day. They all feel that Dee’s services are completely indispensable and that Dee has had an important part to play in our company achievements.

Ashley Law Crawley was founded in 2006 preceded by our long careers in large corporate business. As new small business owners, we really knew nothing about how to market our services. We had no brochures, no literature, no ideas about what campaigns would work best, no bespoke web presence. Frankly, we didn’t even know where to start.
We had read Dee’s first book “Powerful Marketing on a Shoestring” and had gleaned some fabulous ideas. However, things really took off when we started working with Dee on a retained basis in 2008. Our marketing efforts were transformed with Dee’s infectious injection of passion, enthusiasm, vibrant energy and fantastic ideas. Dee was able to quickly understand our business and help us develop a complete set of literature with consistent branding and some great tag lines. We agreed a strategy and plan up front, this being regularly reviewed against progress.
Dee was able to put us in contact with trusted local suppliers for graphic design, printing and advertising. We also transformed our web and social media presence, using Dee’s copy writing skills as the foundation. Our preparations and execution for attendance at local B2B shows have been particularly successful. Our Ashley Law Crawley goody bags being a big draw for new clients, another of Dee’s wonderful ideas. Where would we be without her help? This is easy to answer, we would be far less successful and behind many of our competitors. Dee’s help has been inspirational and we will continue to work with her for many years to come.
